What to Do in Hot Springs

Bathhouse Row

Celebrities like Babe Ruth and Marilyn Monroe used to come to Hot Springs to enjoy the spas on Bathhouse Row. Even more notorious clients, like Al Capone, once frequented Hot Springs bathhouses for their believed medicinal properties. Although several of the bathhouses are now museums or shops, visitors can still enjoy the authentic spa bath experience in two of the bathhouses. A traditional bath experience includes assistance from a personal attendant,, a 20-minute soak in a 100 degree thermal bath, sitz bath or steam cabinet experience, hot packs for achy muscles and additional services that will leave visitors relaxed and rejuvenated.

Gorgeous Natural Spaces

Hot Springs is surrounded by lush greenery and lakes as far as the eye can see. Start a day in the Spa City with a walk through the Garven Botanic Gardens, where you may meet a peacock or two as you stroll through the forest, over Koi ponds and through a glass chapel. Enjoy an afternoon fishing, boating or picnicking by the Hot Springs Lakes or on a world-class 18-hole golf course. Oaklawn Racing and Gaming is a fun stop during the thoroughbred racing season.

Hot Springs has a thriving art scene, earning it a ranking of fourth place on the list of Best Art Towns in America. Visit the Hot Springs Fine Arts District where historic buildings have been transformed into studios and galleries. The first Friday of every month, Hot Springs hosts a gallery walk, or get tickets to one of several fine arts events like the Hot Springs Music Festival or the Hot Springs Documentary Film Festival.
