"I love the rivers and all that Portland has to offer on the Willamette & Columbia. There are so many events that are held along the downtown Portland Waterfront that provide activities and entertainment for individuals and families. The Columbia Gorge is one of the most beautiful areas and we are fortunate to be a short distance away. I have lived in the area my entire life so I have many experiences and suggestions...!"
"One of my favorite eats is a bit off the beaten path but well worth the effort to get there. Goldie's Texas Style Barbeque 15640 NE 4th Palin Rd #100 Vancouver, WA. 'Where Texas meets Louisiana'."
"Voodoo doughnuts are a must in Portland. The Pearl District and 23rd Street are full of fun local shops and restaurants. Make sure you go into Powell's Books - its incredible to see floor after floor of books on everything from cooking to art to comics and beyond. Blue Hour is a very elegant place to enjoy Happy Hour in the Pearl, or stop by Oba for their Baked Argentina. If you're in SE Portland, sit down at Bamboo Sushi for some delicious and sustainable sushi - you won't be disappointed!"
"Hiking, biking, sailing, skiing - there are so many fun recreational activities in the area."
"Go for Happy Hour at Uptown Billiards, then stop by Papa Haydn's on 23rd St. Papa Hyden's has towering desserts that make for great end to a fun girls night out."
"Alberta Street has good eats - everything from the Grilled Cheese Grill food cart (I recommend the Grilled Cheezus), to a little French bakery - Petit Provence, to the Salt 'n' Straw with their homemade ice cream (everything from homemade toffee to olive oil ice cream). Delicious."
